Began career in the financial services business in Billings, Montana, as an agent with MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

Appointed Staff Supervisor for Denver, Colorado agency, responsible for agent recruiting, selection, training and supervision.

Promoted to Home Office Career Development Consultant for MassMutual; later to Superintendent of Agent Development and then Regional Director of Agent Development —responsibilities included the design and implementation of sales and management training programs. In addition, Gary built a strong reputation as a speaker on recruiting, selection, training, supervision and sales methods.

Promoted to Superintendent of Agencies for MassMutual’s Midwestern Region; transferred to the Eastern Region where he was responsible for development and growth in premium productivity of the agencies.

Bankers Life and Casualty Company, Vice President of Field Development—responsibilities included agent development, management development, product implementation, marketing communications, advanced sales and agent prospecting support programs.

Pioneer Financial Services, Inc., Executive Vice President of Marketing—responsibilities included agent and management training programs, field communications and recognition programs, lead programs, marketing administrative support, leadership of the national brokerage sales operation, special products/advanced sales support and product development.

MassMutual Financial Group Agency Vice President for the Central Region of USA—responsibilities included the growth and development of 21 sales offices and 1100 sales representatives within the region.

Creative Business Entrepreneur —Formed Performance Alliance, L.C. to help organizations maximize productivity and define strategies for profitable growth through his business consulting/coaching, presentations and training.

We all should spend our lives in hot pursuit of something. It could be gold medals at the Olympics or it could be peace of mind. Heck, it could be a million things...like, maybe a million dollars, for instance. Whatever! The point is life is a pursuit not a place to rest and recuperate...that comes at the end.

That said, whatever your pursuit, you need to accept one simple fact, if you are going to ultimately have a truly successful pursuit. Are you ready? Here it is! The difference between excellence and perfection is one must be achieved while pursuing the other.

Short and simple but hot thought. Pursue it!
