Paradise?

It seems for all eternity the human race has been in search of that elusive thing called paradise.  The term has been defined, described, and the dictates for reaching paradise have been provided in virtually all the world's religions.  From a secular frame of reference, it has been defined and described as Shangri La, as just one example.

But, what is it or where is it, really?  I contend it is not as mystical as might be suggested whether from a religious or secular point of view.  My question to you is, Why be in constant search of paradise?  I believe it's like the concept of "acres of diamonds."  To explain, think about it this way.

Paradise is all around you.  It's at your very feet.  You can see it.  You can touch it.  It's where you are right now.  This world...this place...is the only certain example of paradise, as far as I'm concerned.  Think of the wonder you see all around you from the living plants and animals to the incredible overall wonder of the universe.  In addition, how could this not be paradise given your family, friends and other human relationships and your opportunities in this life.

Paradise?  Stop searching and start living !
