Difficulties Abound

No matter what direction you look there are massive difficulties in the world.  Sometimes it can feel almost overwhelming.  You wonder how in the world things are going to stabilize in the face of political, ecological, and humanitarian difficulties as large as we all face.

Well, whether you're thinking about the world-wide issues or your own difficulties think about this.  A renowned preacher in his time, William Ellery Channing, had this to say about difficulties.  "Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage.  The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict."

So, what does that mean for you and your personal difficulties?  In a word, hope.  Think of your difficulties as a source of hope for you.  You're not alone in your difficulties.  We all have them and we all overcome them somehow...even you.  Be not discouraged!  Rouse yourself in your difficulties and grow strong in overcoming them!

It will be difficult not to have the good times abound as a result!
